Love the Thomas Dolby drop in one of those answers.
Seriously, science is just a process, a tool for finding out about the world around it. How can it be "blinding" to just ask how something happens? How is it being blind to ask for evidence? It seems far more blind to me to just ignore the world around you and believe in something only because a book says it's so.

sometimes, it's tempting to think that what we know right now is the final word on the matter, so there is a point to be made. but fundamentalists don't address the basic point that there is no support in science for the existence of a god (or strictly speaking for the nonexistence of a god in the most general sense of the word, but that's a different argument perhaps). i think it's really only necessary to make this point because the fundamentalists are so fond of insisting that science supports their beliefs.

The answer to that depends on what side you stand...
Are you a fundamentalist, or an Atheist? LOL...
Both are persuaded that they are 100% correct.
I have been labelled "Fundamentalist", and based on scripture alone I would have to take the stand that they are in fact "blinded"
SCRIPTURES SUPPORTING THIS CONCEPT:
2 Corinthians 4:4 --- "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God."
Matthew 13:15 ----- "This is why I speak to them in parables:
"Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
" 'You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
For this people's heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them."
*Sorry to throw so much scripture at you, but unfortunately prophecy is being fulfilled, and unfortunately there are alot of people who are Spiritually blind.
God bless.

As a Christian I agree that science at the basic level presently; proves Biblical truths. However, above that basic level; 'Christians' and science both have something to 'deal' with.
'Christians'; the word of God has been wrongly divided along with other (illogical) deviations . They are causing division in Christianity, and outsiders to make fun of 'Christians'; because they have not cleaned them out, as they are illogical.
Science(ists), on the other hand, makes theories from facts. Theories may or may not be accurate.
Does that description answer the above question here presently?

It is not fundamentalists v atheists when it comes to science but fundamentalists v Christians, Moslems, Jews, Buddhists etc etc etc and atheists. The anti-science fundies are a minority within various religions but the majority of adherents of those religions do not reject science.

At least science admits when it's wrong, and then looks to find out why and correct the error.
Ever hear of a religion admitting it was wrong? And even if they are caught in an obvious error, they come out with "Well, the Lord works in mysterious ways." What a crock.
If believing in science makes me blind, then send in the Seeing-Eye dog. I'll take my blindness over religion's false "light" anytime.

If a personal god does exist, science almost certainly can't find it. The fundamentalists are right about that. In matters of the physical world, however, science kicks faith's butt into next week.

Science is not the culprit for spiritual blindness,although many use science as an excuse.

Are fundamentalists blinded by religion? I think so, because while religion is faith based, science is fact driven.

Thankfully, the human species will continue to progress regardless of those few who choose and demand self-imposed ignorance.
Had fundamentalists succeeded in controlling the world, we'd still be living in caves. If you want to remain where you are, by all means do so...the rest of us are moving on.
