He was also stationed as an officer at a nazi concentration camp. But of course the church wants to show the world others can change from their past ways and become someone new through the catholic faith. The vatican doesnt do background checks on the potential pope, they leave that to the holy spirit. The media however does background checks on everyone that makes it on the air.

The seminary does that before a man even begins studies for the priesthood. No-one would take any particular note of the fact that a man had been a member of a childhood political group. Why would they? How would that be relevant to a candidate's suitability for priesthood, or to serve the Church as Pope?? Good thing they didn't run a background check on Saint Paul before he took on a position of leadership in the early Christian Church! Then again, they didn't have to. His background was widely known, and many had witnessed the atrocities he perpetrated and/or supervised.

I am sure they knew. This guy Ratzinger was vetted to be the Pope. This was not a "pop quiz," election. The Holy See is veering the Catholic Church to the right intentionally and he fits the bill. It is also said that he was deliberately picked (according to age) as a short lived stop-gap Pope while the forces behind the scene arrange things to be even more virulently right wing. All of these machinations were started while WojtyÅa was still in his prime.

I knew! I will say this much...this new Pope does not preach the love that Christ instructed to be preached! He is a WOLF in sheeps clothing! In fact, to me, he could possibly be the anti-christ! With all his murmurings about "only catholics are a true church!" Give me a break! That is NOT the teachings of Christ nor, those who followed Christ. MY Goodness, look at Paul! He was doing the work God had given to Peter to do! REACHING everyone....not just selected peoples!
So, I say deseat the idiot Benedict and gag the monster!!!!
Yes, I put those exclamation marks in there not to be dramatic but to prove my distaste for this demon of a pope.
My prayers are that God will allow this traitor to be de-seated as he is a hate monger in the eyes of many now...including those he is suppose to be shepherding! BULL! He is about his own agenda...not God's!

He was not in the Nazi Party. His family had to move because they were not "cooperative' with the Nazis. All teens had to be in Hitler youth. Joe went awal from the german army rather than fight for it.

Do you think he should be held responsible for things he was forced to do as a boy? Maybe we should hold the Jews responsible for 'letting' themselves be killed.
