Woe to you when all men speak well of you,
For so did their fathers to the false prophets. Luke 6:26
Jesus said this.

That I can be glad ,that the closer I get to Jesus ,the more enemies I seem to draw, the world is not suppose to love us, they hated Jesus and He told us ,that they would hate us.
I always tell my closest Christian buddies, that when people love you too much and always agree with you , you better check ,who's side you are on.

This verse, to me, means that if the world thinks well of all I say and do, then I must be fitting into the world and looking like I am part of it. I am accepted by people because I make them feel good about what they are doing. I am not a threat to them and their ways. False prophets were not a threat. King Ahab listened to false prophets because they told him what he wanted to hear.

Jesus says alas for you if this is true. We, as Christians, are not to be of this world. In John 15: 18-19, Jesus says: "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you."

So if the verse from Luke 6:26 is true about me, then woe is me, because I am either not a Christian, or I am not being light. I am salt that has lost its savor. I am one who has lost my first love.

That if all the people are speaking well about you, you are probably not following what the word of God to the letter... You are people pleasing (an exhausting and tiring job) and you are at risk of being a false prophet...

For me personally lucky me but all people don't speak well of me, although I do try to live at peace with all men not to the point where I make what the bible says flexible...

[20-26] The introductory portion of the sermon consists of blessings and woes that address the real economic and social conditions of humanity (the poor--the rich; the hungry--the satisfied; those grieving--those laughing; the outcast--the socially acceptable). By contrast, Matthew emphasizes the religious and spiritual values of disciples in the kingdom inaugurated by Jesus ("poor in spirit," Matthew 5:5; "hunger and thirst for righteousness," Matthew 5:6). In the sermon, blessed extols the fortunate condition of persons who are favored with the blessings of God; the woes, addressed as they are to the disciples of Jesus, threaten God's profound displeasure on those so blinded by their present fortunate situation that they do not recognize and appreciate the real values of God's kingdom. In all the blessings and woes, the present condition of the persons addressed will be reversed in the future.

Peace and blessings!

The way worldly adults and schoolmates treat you because you put obedience to God first may hurt your feelings and your pride, but is it not better to be hurt by ungodly people for doing what is right than to be hurt by God for doing what is wrong? Is it not better to be well spoken of by God than to be well spoken of by persons? Remember what Jesus said: “Woe, whenever all men speak well of you.”—Luke 6:26.

It means that if you are receiving the praises of men, then you are doing things that the world considers important and not the things of God. Therefore, woe to you.

When a largeportion of ppl in church will speak so highly of the pastor or leaders, it could be that they aren t doing their job. not always so, but can be. because anyone speaking truth tends to upset those that wont accept truths When a pastor speaks truly, he or she tends to ruffle the feathers, as it leads to conviction and many do not want to hear that. This is also try of prophets and ppl in other ministries. PPL tend to flock to a peson only tickling their ears and telling them what they want to hear instead of what God wants them to hear Gods truths will just collide with anyone in rebellion. and many will reject total truth. But the truth is what sets them free.

When the world and fence-riding religious people give accolades and praise for how religious and maybe tolerant a person is you may be on the wrong side of the fence.
note:
Jesus was hated by the "top religious leaders".

Funny, I just heard this talked about two days ago. I feel when everyone is on your band wagon so to speak, you had better watch your step. Satan doesn't bother you if your not doing anything right for God. He only bothers you or has his followers bother you when you are standing for what is good, just and pure.

It means if the world loves you for what you are saying, then you are not speaking the truth. It's saying that the truth will never be the popular thing to say.
