The orange triangle with exclamation mark inside and the message comes up. After some time the message will go away and the car will report no errors. The problem, whatever it is, is intermittent...anyone ever experience that before...other than that the car runs great. If it was a bad O2 sensor then wouldnt it stay bad and the message would stay permanently? Also it is not that the gas cap is not put on correctly I've checked that...any ideas?

I assume the message appears on the little information screen on left side of the instrument cluster. This means there is information stored in one of the cars computers that has seen a problem, the problem is most likely intermittant so it is just coming on to let you know there was a problem seen, most likely this problem will occur again and the light will stay on or come on when driving. If it was the routine service reminder light it is on the right side of the instrument cluster and is just a small yello service light. I'll tell ya that most likely your vehicle will not pass an emissions test until this problem is repaired. Most of the time you dont really feel anything different in the car, thats why the message appears, otherwise you wouldnt know anything was wrong.

It is a service reminder to have routine maintenance done on your car, for example, change the oil and whatever else is recommended at the current mileage. My Honda lights like that a few times and then finally stays on as a reminder. After servicing, reset the light and when service is due again, it will tell you.
