We are planning a trip and myself and our baby are travelling first, and my husband will be joining us a few days later.
do I need to provide notarized written consent from my husband to travel with our baby? He will probably be taking us to the airport anyway and so will be with us when we check in.
Anyone had any experience with this?

Did everyone actually READ the details of my question?
No I am not getting divorced and no there are no custody issues. My husband will only be with us for the return part of our journey.
I was concerned about my outbound part of the trip as I have heard of parents travelling alone with a child being asked for written consent from other parent.

I would just go ahead and have one written up. I don't think that you will need it but that way you have it just in case. I know that in cases when grandparent take children out of the country they have to have a letter but I would right just write a basic letter and take it to the bank and have it notorized. Like I said I don't think that you will have to but you want to make sure since it would be a pain if you did need one and did not have it better safe then sory

Unless you are undergoing a divorce and/or custody issues - no. If you are, then yes. It probably wouldn't hurt anyway to get it.

Why would you need a note giving you permission to travel with your child?

Did the court tell you not to take the child out of the area?

Does your husband know you're leaving and taking the child?

There's no requirement by anyone that you have a consent form. If you have any uncertainties, call the airline office before your trip begins.

Totally get it in writing. Even if you don't end up needing it, you will have peace of mind.
