Hi,

Some computers are sold with Office included as part of the package. Be sure to check the discs that came with your computer because you might already have the install disc.

If you need to purchase the software, Microsoft has a Student/Teacher edition that is the same software but at a tiny fraction of the cost. AcademicSuperstore.com is one place to get the academic price, but many computer stores, including the Apple store, stock the academic version.

Can't afford even that? Then mosey over to eBay. I would expect copies of Office 2003 to be there in large quantities as people "upgrade" to Office 2007. Personally, I like 2003 better than 2007. There are practically no new features in 2007, so 2003 is a good choice for Windows. Office 2004 is my choice for the Mac.

Microsoft Word and Powerpooint are part of a program suite called Microsoft Office. The latest version is Microsoft Office 2007. But Microsoft Office 2003 is still commonly used worldwide. So if you visit microsoft.com, don't look for powerpoint or word, look for Microsoft Office.

That all being said what happened to the Original Install Disc's for Microsoft Office that came with your Computer.
That is I am sorry to say the only way I am aware you can get them. You see Microsoft like so many other Software Makers have really put the clamps on the illegal use of there software. Sorry it's changed a bunch in 5 years, there software now requires key Codes to Unlock and Download there Software to stop Pirating.

They aren't free, you will have to buy them. Well, unless you can find it illegally which I shun.
