It depends upon you and how much time you put in. Most of it you will know by road experience, but study the diagrams and the traffic signs. There are two priority sins I confuse so I give way to both it being the safe option. The square one means they give way the round one means you do. take your time read it frequently and you should have no trouble. But remember stopping distances and road signs.

well, im taking my theory tomorrow, and i've only studied it for 2 hours so far, but i did do my CBT before, so i have minor road experience, its more of an application of knowing signs, commonsense and minor technical experience (if it breaks down, what do you do?
A. Crap your pants
B. check your key is in the ignition
C. Call the AA
D. Make sure your in a car.)
Lol, that was good :D
anyways...
if i was you and had as much time, i'd say get an account on this (i just did) and do the 2 training things, then the 2 tests and see how you come about.
http://www.theory-tests.co.uk/
its all free, seeing as im a student and you may be too, YIPPIE!
Overall i'd say it would take about a week or so studying about one hour every day to learn more than you need.
Hope that helped,
Regards,
Dr. Rider

Shouldn't take long. It is not a mystery, it is all just common sense. It you are stupid you will never get it. If you are not stupid it should take no time at all.
