Most states define a felony as any crime that carries a MAXIMUM sentence of 1 year or more. It is possible to be convicted of a felony and receive a shorter sentence.

If the charge was felony drug possession, Federal law will prohibit her from owning a gun. The constitutionality of the law may be questionable, but that is the law at this time.

weapons are risky and that i think of having those regulations will help with gun suitable crimes. Lives of harmless persons are at stake right here. you're dropping no rights. no one is asserting you won't manage to possess a gun...they are in simple terms asserting that they choose you to circulate by particular steps to make particular you're able to taking over the accountability of possessing a gun. I optimistic do no longer choose somebody who's mentally volatile to possess a gun. Do you? added: So that's no longer real? Mmhh. appeared like a competent thought.

If you are asking if she is still considered to be a felon that depends on what the charge she was convicted of was. And if the actual question is can she own a gun because of that conviction the answer is no. If you are a convicted felon you can't own a gun.
