Is it a ding or a beep?

If you hear a ding with the door ajar light on the dash (common occurance) it will do that showing the key is in the ignition.

If it's a beep, count them.. if it beeps 5 times, stops then beeps 5 times more.. bring it to your Ford dealer to check the air bag system.

Other than that, it may be wise to have it looked at anyway at the dealer for the beep noise.

Listen to gearbox 1, if your Ford is beeping it is because of a problem with the airbag system. We see a lot of them at our dealership that do this because the car came from a used car lot or private sale and the air bag light was on, so rather then fix the problem the seller removes the warning lamp bulb and calls it good, the beep is a backup warning system for the airbag lamp.

Ok, but let me ask you this, do you get in and close the door immediately and then put keys in the ignition? Or do you open the door get in put the keys in the ignition and then close the door? I have had many fords and if you put keys in first sometimes the sensor does not shut off immediately when you close up and start. To give this a test, get in and leave the door open and put the keys in the ignition. If the ding is exactly the same, then your sensor on the door and ignition just sometimes is having a head space and timing issue. Don't bother trying to get Ford to undo it either, they are no longer allowed to undo those things anymore.

It's the automation age.
My Silverado is a world of "beeps"
"flashing lights" and "On Star"
instructions.

Just the other day, it left work
without me, and I had to take a
taxi home.
