i am looking to loose A LOT of weight

breakfast-total or cheerios with a banna
lunch-caesar salad
dinner-hamburger (no bun) with corn or pasta with tomatoe sauce
snacks-fresh fruit or pretzels or ice pops

is this a good idea to loose weight, what should i cut out?
and if i eat this everyday will that be bad?

also, if i swim a couple laps each day and do crunches will that help?

That isn't a bad diet, but it might get quite boring after a week or two. You may want to find different varieties of food that still cover the food groups and have good nutrients. Just so you don't burn out. Exercise will defiantly speed up the process of losing weight and getting in shape. Crunches can be done daily as well as swimming as the abs repair quickly and swimming is a low impact workout.

your breakfast is great. I would also try some oatmeal...you can sprinkle a little sweet n low or buy some sugar control quakers oatmeal. You can also eat some egg whites.

In terms of lunch. I would switch the Ceasar salad to a regular green salad with veggies. Reason being that the Ceasar dressing has LOTS of fat you dont need. You are better off having a large veggie salad and you can use a low fat balsamic dressing or even better just put some balsamic dressing and olive oil (a little though) and lemon juice. I would also eat at least one piece of fruit (an apple or orange) between lunch a dinner).

I would eat a snack (like non fat cottage cheese which is a GREAT source of protein) between lunch and dinner...or a handful of plain almonds.

Dinner - the hamburger is okay but red meat has more fat than chicken or fish...so dont be a afraid to switch it...even if all you have time for is a drive through...get the chicken sandwich plain with lettuce, tomatoe and DONT eat the bun. I would also have a vegetable...NO pasta...if you HAVE TO eat pasta get the whole wheat pasta...they sell it now in almost everystore...but if you really want to lost weight Pasta is not ideal...and tomatoe sauce has a TON on sugar...you dont feel it or taste it but its there. corn is good...any other veggies are good too.
For dessert I would eat sugar free ice pops...make SURE they are sugar free and also jello makes sugar free chocolate and vanilla pudding...just have one.

The main thing is to eat five times a day...make sure you make your food work for you...you should not get to a point where you are hungary. In terms of excercise...a couple of laps is not really enough...if you can do at least 10 or 15 ...work upto 20...you should be doing at least 100 crunches...but the best thing is to try and do cardio....walk 20-30 minutes...even if its around your block. Swimming is great, but unless you do it fast a at least for 20 minutes, it wont consitute as cardio.

In terms of things to cut out...ALL processed sugar...and anything that has WHITE flour...which basically means ALL baked goods. If you have a sandwich...that is okay but use whole grain bread, lean turkey, lettuce, tomatoe...Lots of protein and veggies and fruit.

You need to add some green vegetables to this, and caesar salad dressing is very high calorie, so cut out that kind of salad. Corn and pasta are both carbs that should be limited while you're on a diet. You should have them once a week, at most. Concentrate on lean meats, vegetables, fruits and, if you eat any bread, a whole grain, sprouted wheat bread, maybe a slice a day. Limit things like mayonnaise and butter/margarine, or cut them out entirely. You also need to do something like walk briskly for 30-45 minutes every day. A couple of laps and a few crunches won't do anything!

make your breakfast with eggs - fruit - to lose weight you need to watch carbs.

however - it is even harder then that - unless you eat organic you are eating things that destroy your ability to get proper nutrition and your body thinks it is starving so everything turns to fat.
