fossils and skeletal remains as proof of Creationism being impossible? Are we really going to jump up and say "THAT'S IT!! Darwin was right all along! This monkey jaw proves it!"

Perhaps attacked was not the best word...belabored, bombarded, pestered, etc...
As for the ape comment, some of y'all are comparing apples and concrete trying to make a point. You are talking about clouds and rivers, Americans, English and Australia...you can not make the argument work because it doesn't!! Give it up.

Note that even in Ancient times there were "Other gods." And if you know the background history of the Old & New Testaments and then compare it to today's society, you'll notice it's still the same. Nothings really changed, except for the difference in gods. But "God, Creator of Heaven and earth" has stayed the same. See, back then Christians were called "*Atheist" because, "in a world of many gods, how is it that a person can believe in one God?" And Darwin never proved his theory about "Ape being decendant of man." So in reality, all this is, is an on- going fued against Christianity.
Now science believes that DNA is the answer to all our problems, but note that they've said things like that before DNA came along. And in fifteen years from now, when something surpasses DNA, they will say the same damn thing. Science is fallible because it comes from MAN.

Together with the preponderance of other evidence (fossil, DNA, geological, anotomical, ect), yes, you should do exactly that.
==edit==
Why are there still apes? That's like saying if rivers and lakes come from clouds, why are there still clouds? Evolution may affect an entire population, or it may only affect a segment of a population. If a population of descendants doesn't compete directly with the original population, there is no reason a priori why the original population should go extinct.

If Christians were more sophisticated, we would use more sophisticated arguments. (They're out there; you just have to look... try talkorigins.org)
As for the apes still being here... isolation + change = evolution. Mutation causes the change. Look at it this way... if American English evolved from the King's (British) English, why is the latter still around? And what's with Australia?

People seek to avoid responsibilty or justify their immoral actions. Evolution is not science, it is religious dogma, and as religious dogma, its followers are not concerned in the least with facts inconvenient to their beliefs.
Evolution is a restatement of the Original Lie "Ye shall be as God." If man evolved and God is nonexistant, then there are no moral absolutes; everyone can do as they see fit, without consequences.Evolution accomodates casual sex, homosexuality, abortion, and a completely materialistic lifestyle because MAN IS GOD.
There is no scientific evidence whatsoever to support evolution, yet the hoax is perpetrated out of convenience. Actually, Lucy isn't wearing any clothes, but people dogmatically cling to imaginary evidence to justify themselves.

of course not you're not going to accept it if you don't want to, but there is better evidence than one monkey jaw if you're willing to investigate with an open mind. no one is asking you to accept all of what darwin said. he was wrong on some things. that's the nature of science, it finds stuff out.
you are a human ape. that's not an attack or an insult, it's just a fact.

I think you'll find that theres more than a "monkey jaw" to back up human descent from prehistroic primates.
Additionally, human ancestral decent has little impact on evolution as a whole, there's a metric assload of evidence of common descent, natural selection, beneficial mutations, etc.
When it comes down to it though, you're fixed in your faith, nobody's gonna change what you believe because you don't WANT to believe anything else. It all comes down to what you WANT to believe. You just don't want to accept reality for what it is so you go with the fantastic mythology that your peers have given you.

Christians aren't really attacked... It's more of a counter.
This is how it works:
Scientists find another link in our ancestry, they publish papers and reports.
Christians say, "that's not right because it goes against the bible!"
Scientists shrug and educated people argue for them, saying, "you have no idea what you're talking about."
Christians see this as a personal attack, and rather than educate themselves on the subject, they look to rhetoric and persuasive fallacies of their bogus christian sources, then they come on to yahoo answers and ask ridiculous questions such as this.

Darwinists have no knowledge of interpreting the Bible, and always love to interpret parables as literal. If interpreted that way they're going to always get the wrong end of the follisilsed bone.
