Upper ear cartilage piercing is most likely to get an infection because of the limited circulation of blood in that area. Many people end up with an infection that requires oral antibiotics to treat it, peroxide is topical and not enough. Advil takes down swelling and pain the best to help. Take your temperature, it is a sign of infection, so are red streaking under the skin leading away from the piercing, and hot to the touch. Go on the internet, and look up ear piercing infections to see some pretty graphic pictures. I had no problems with mine, but many ear piercers here in canada won't do them because of liability issues with infection. Good luck!

Make sure that the earring didn't go on too tight. I would think that the swelling should be down by now unless the earring is pinching it. That happened to a friend of mine; they used the piercing gun and it went on further than it was supposed to and her ear stayed swollen and then we couldn't get the earring out. Check and make sure that didn't happen to you.

Good luck to you.

Well, yes its normal. You've got it good for right now, because its normally like that for two weeks. Now, if they didnt tell you that when they did it then thats a problem. Its really nothing to worry about though. All you need to make sure to do is: dont sleep on it, clean with the solution daily, dont mess with the earring, if you touch it make sure you wash your hands first, and if you do this there should be no problem at all. I hope this helps with your problem.

yes i had my cartilidge pierced twice and i still have it. it might get infected for a little bit but you have to be patient and let it heal. oh and make sure nobody accidently hits you in the ear. it REALLY HURTS!! =]
