Islam in Arabic does not mean peace but submission. If Muslims say they are a religion of peace let them explain the following.
In Sura 2:216, Allah, their God, is supposed to have said this to Muslims: "Fighting is prescribed upon you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that you love a thing, which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth and ye know not."
Here we see some reluctance on the part of Muslims to fight; but Allah tells them, "I know what is good for you."
There are many Suras in the Quran, which prove beyond doubt that Islam is a religion of violence. Islamic Fundamentalists have used these teachings to justify their actions. Jihad is not a one-time event. It is a continuing operation until the entire world is converted to Islam.
"Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, … nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book [Jews and Christians]" (Sura 9:29). Anyone who thinks we can achieve a lasting peace in the Middle East needs to have his head examined.
Muslims say that these Suras apply only during the time of Muhammad. But the Quran does not explicitly or implicitly say that. In fact, Islam divides the world into two houses: The House of Islam and the House of War. The goal of Islam is to dominate the world and Muslims believe they are justified in using violence to achieve this goal.
Of course, there are many Muslims who do not subscribe to the literal interpretation of the Quran. I have known many Muslims and I know the majority of Muslims just want peace and the well being of their families.
What Islam needs right now is a reform movement. There are many traditions and teachings of Islam, which are no longer relevant today. Women's rights and religious intolerance are just two, which come to mind.
Peace and blessings!

The closest I 've seen of a Muslim protest is in Lebanon. At least that government is trying to hold it together. Turkey has just stated as a nation. Islamic state but secular government.
The only peace and love in the Koran is to another Muslim or after they have killed us all off. That includes atheist and Hindu and all those other pagans.
I pray for peace in Israel because I know that will set up the battle of Ezekiel and soon we will be gone.
God Bless!

The president of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf, recently issued orders to kill an extremist mullah who was incharge of an Islamic school and was spreading extremism amongst the students.
In other countries, by which I mean other than America, there is no such thing as a Bill of Rights. People there don't know how to protest peacefully, and even if they do, the government might not let them.
What are the U.S. muslims supposed to do? Why don't you suggest some stuff? Maybe someone will listen.
For my part, it is enough for me to know that there are some Muslims out there who have enough sense to not listen to extremist religious leaders.

One thing I don't understand is why is it that in western world, people even get so angry about terrorism. I admit there are good people here in the west...they dont waste time hating.... it seems that terrorism usually make the lower class/ higher americans angrier.but didn't these same people ruin lives of children with divorce and abandonment? i dont see it different from wat u call Muslim terrorism. only difference is that while such attacks kill people instantly, divorces and abandonment kill children slowly, but everyday. So do look into your own backyard before wondering about another group. By the way, if u think you are truly better than Muslims, why don't you leave America so that native Indians can get back their land?

You have to blame our own media for being misinformed. There are just some things they aren't gonna report, a bunch of Muslims protesting terrorism that will contradict the hate propaganda that they have been showing us since 9/11.
I know plenty of Muslims who have spoken out about terrorism. It got no news coverage, it was advertised but I did not see one news camera there.

Alkide is protesting. People doesn't`t have to protest same thing that you do. People are dying in this moment, they children is dying in that moment. I believe they will do something. This will be ,PROTEST.
9/11 was a Protest.
Don't look at the situation as Muslim or Christian . It is all about Power.
I think people should get together and we should find different way to manage our self.Killing will bring over more killing.

Muslims HAVE marched in the streets against terrorism.
Indonesia had a protest against terrorism, and drew over a million people. Jordan had one after a bombing in their country. Iranians flocked to the streets and conducted candlelight vigils after 9/11. (Photos are in the first link) Palestinians had a march in the streets against suicide bombing (no idea why it was not covered in english-language news).
CAIR, the Council for American Islamic Relations, took out full-page ads condemning terorrism and has condemned every major terrorist attack from Madrid to London to the beheading of Nick Berg.
I've been condemning violence for years, it's not my fault that CNN doesn't interview American Muslims on the street to get opinions or break the myth. It's like asking why Americans never protested in the streets against things like Abu Ghraib (it's obvious everyone is disgusted by it, but some assume Americans silently support it), or like asking where are the Israelis who protested against the war with Lebanon? The reality is that there's plenty of people in all these instances, blame people's misperceptions instead of the people.
As for Abel, he is cherry-picking verses without reading the chapters they are in. For every verse saying to fight (they were saying to fight The Meccans and he can't claim they apply in this case), there are many other verses commanding Muslims to seek peace and stop fighting.

We do (and I have) but we never received media coverage for it. I have always maintained that terrorism is wrong (common sense). I don't feel it's m responsibility to have to protest terrorism as if I'm responsible for the acts themselves but I try to clear some misconceptions. That's why I'm on here letting you know that there's one less "Muslim terrorist" ;-)

They have been speaking out. Your question should have been why is the media not reporting it.
Now where are all the Christians who are speaking out on the American lives being lost in Iraq or the thousands of innocent Iraq civilians (including children) who were killed during the Shock and Awe attacks on Bagdad started by a "Born Again Christian"?

They do. Do a simple google search or yahoo search. Our media just doesn't give it the attention they deserve. Also, a lot of marches for peace are multi-denominational, but people overlook or ignore the Muslims
Don't be such a helpless ignoramus.
