Do you happen to know why there is usually such a disparity between the Senior Pastor's and the Associate Pastor's salary?

It's been my experience that this difference is usually at least 50% but sometimes it's hundreds of percent more.

Any reason that this should be -- assuming, of course, that the workload is approximately the same?

Based on my assumption that(since I don't know) the congregation decides the salary, I would say...what does it matter? If God is in your church, he will make sure you are getting what you deserve, so why even think about it? It only shows you care about money which is never good. Not to be..sounding rude or somewhat..just don't think it is such a great idea to care at all about that, if you are the Associate Pastor that is. If you are just doing research, well...sorry I wasted your time. Have a blessed day!:-)
