pour a little bit of alcohol on it to make it release its mouth from your dogs skin and then just pick him off with your fingers and or tweezers. Then kill it. He should be fine from there.

I removed one once by taking the head and twisting carefully. Now this is not recommended, because if one of the legs of the tick breaks it can cause an infection in the dog, and if the tick bites you instead it can convey disease.
The proper way I was told by the Vet is to get chloroform from the chemists. Don't know if available in your place. Plus it puts people to sleep too so don't breathe it. Put the lotion on a cotton pad and soak the head of the tick. Then with tweezers, gently pull the bug off the skin of your dog and discard the bug.

Take Vaseline and thoroughly cover the tick and it will do one of two things (1) it will smother and fall off or (2) it will let go on its on. Also, products like Frontline work through the blood stream to kill all ticks and fleas that are currently on the dog. I wouldn't suggest taking tweezers to get it off if it is deeply embedded, you could possibly leave the head attached causing infection.

Vaseline is good enough but after the tick is off take a wet towel and wipe of the Vaseline , it could do more damage than the tick if the puppy eats it

Frontline is for puppies 7 weeks and older. Do not frontline the pup!!!
Revolution is what we use on pups that young.
Here is the cdc website about tick removal. Please go to it for proper removal technique. BTW, do NOT throw the tick away... put it in a snack bag with the date of removal and put it in the freezer. Should your puppy develop an infection, having the tick with you will really help the vet diagnose the illness...

You dont have to go to vet for that, just pull the tick out of the skin . And then apply frontline.

take some clean tweaser & just pull the tick straight out. once you got it out put into a plastic bag & close it. don't throw it out cause the doctor will probably need to see it. take some antibacterial alcohol & clean the area. go to the doctor & get it checked out.

don't use a lighter, thats kinda dangerous. you could yank it out with tweezers but make sure you have a good grip so you don't just rip it's head off. another idea is to put a great big glob of vaseline over it. it will smother and pull out and try to crawl off, then you can throw it away.

don't use vasaline or anything to smother the tick, the tick has enough oxygen to continue feeding. use fine point tweezers and put it out.
