I reckon that is the best and most logical thing I have ever read on here. And in the syntax of what you are saying there, I'm quite proud to be ugly. :) After all when the beauty fades anyway, you end up like yesterday's news. Or as you said murdered or something cause people treat beautiful people as nothing more than possessions anyway.

I agree to a certain degree.
A beautiful person isn't abused more than an ugly person.
In a job interview between two women, one plain and the other a knock out, who do you think will get the job? Its' a fact, more people are hired for looks than on job skills.
Yes, I believe that the media does control our conceptions as to what is a good looking person and what is deemed ugly.
If the media would promote having a beautiful mind over body we wouldn't have to be faced with body dis morphia issues as we do today.
I'm all for mind over looks any day!

I reckon that a lot of people who are not that attractive would certainly disagree with your opinion of them not having to put up with abuse. But enough of the poor looking or uglier folks, beauty over time fades and the inside of the person will always be there. So if a person has good morals and character this is much more important that how their shell looks in my opinion. But I would agree with you 100% that a beautiful mind is far more attractive than a beautiful body anyday.

I totally agree.I think that a beautiful mind and heart make a person. They can be the most beautiful person on earth but if they are ugly and bitter toward others they will never be considered beautiful. To me looks don't make a person (though so often they would be nice:)lol yeah I am talking about me. Everybody always has something to complain about themselves no matter how beautiful they are. I knew a young women one time that was not by any stretch beautiful in her looks. She was not blemish free in features, never wore makeup, not skinny, had big hips, yet will all this she had a bright mind and was wise, sweetest person you could ever meet and to me she was beautiful!!!

I think its superficial to say what you did lol. Or were meaning to, to make a point? Were saying those things because that's what people assume? Because all those things can happen with anyone regardless of how "attractive" you are. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So what one person thinks is "beautiful" someone else will think it's ugly.
I think Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are unattractive. But many others put them on their "sexiest" list.
Though human life is a beautiful thing. We all have our flaws. But yeah when it comes right down to what is most important it is the mind. If someone that looked like Brad Pitt were to walk up to me and make me laugh and wow me with conversation, I would be attracted.

yeah, it's true. but we're not attracted to ugly people. it's just how the world is, and everyone just excepts it. I'm a relatively handsome person myself, not to brag....BUT i still follow the famous quote. If you as a person can be both mental and physically attracted to someone that is true love. but, it is human nature to be more infatuated with a beautiful person than the bum on the side of the street.
It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see."
