I have been hearing a lot about immirations and illegal aliens in the US. Lets say a person was illegal and he was working and he married and got deported, is it possible that if he got a job and contributed to society and made a difference that he would be made a resident than a citizen? Also what makes a person "illegal" to be in this country? Also if a person is willing to work and contribute in a postive light shouldnt they be gratned citizenship? There are a lot of people on assistance welfare workers comp etc in the US that could work but choose not to yet they are not disciplined for it. This question was on my mind so I thought I would post it.

there is a right way to be in this country and laws are set forth in that respect that must be adhered to. if that person wants to be here so bad then they should be willing to do it in the right way not try to get over on America then expect to stay here if they do this or that. if a person "chooses" not to work they may be lazy or trying to get over but a person cant be prosecuted for not working unless they are committing fraud..then they have to be caught or something...there are so many different ways to look at that..if someone is not working and could work you have to look at why they chose not to...

If you get involuntarily deported ( that means they deported you , you did not leave on your own ) then you can not reapply for a visa for 10 years. After that you could though and possibly end up a citizen at some point.

What makes a person illegal is that you have to have a visa or some legal method to be able to enter the USA. If you entered without that then you have broke the law of the USA and you are therefore illegal.

If you had a hotel and you had 100 rooms and 2000 people said they wanted to pay you money to stay there, well what would you do? you can only have 100? doesnt matter that all of them were willing to do what it took to stay you can only have a certain amount. So even if someone is willing to do what it takes, we can only have so many.

A legal immigrant asks for and receives permission to enter this country to live and work. Legal immigrants are screened prior to being granted that permission.
Illegal aliens did not ask for that permission or asked and were denied. They either entered illegally or overstayed as tourists or temporary guest workers. Many are here under orders of deportation but they change identities and remain.
Many have criminal warrants against them or are already incarcerated. They enter without health-screening and bring in disease.
They demand the rights of citizens, but did not follow the legal process to become one.
There should no rewards for disregarding law or disdaining a nation's sovereignty. An American who enters another nation illegally should be deported and would be.

If the illegal was such an upstanding person, why did he allow himself to become illegal in the first place.

The number of people who are on welfare and are able to work, generally ARE working. Yes there are those who fake medical conditions but that is very rare. (you'll find the faker's collecting workman's comp, as well as investigation teams who look for this sort of thing)

People on welfare generally don't enjoy it and do try to find work, because you make way more money from a minimum wage job then you get from welfare.

This topic has been brought up time and time again by the pro illegal side, but rarely do they introduce any statistics or reputable studies, because it would just disprove the point they want to make.

We have laws for a reason. Can the U.S. hold & support the world? I am so, so glad we don't have someone like you as president. You really truly support an open border??? Why don't you & all other pro-illegals volunteer to support these criminals & let us who don't off the hook. Why should we be "forced" to work hard while someone who doesn't even belong here can stay at home with her eight babies while my child has to go to child care for me to work for a living??? Ask yourself those questions before you put someone down that rightfully wants our laws enforced. In my opinion... Deport all illegal aliens!!!

This is not about individuals, it is about what is best for our nation. There are 12 million illegal immigrants in the country from Mexico alone, and 50 million more coming. That is small by comparison to the world totals who want to come here from Indonesia and India, where you easily find 200 million ready to sneak across the border. In ten years, that figure will be closer to 400 million. If we allow everyone to come here, our economy is doomed. They don't pay taxes and demand free health care. Our only hope of prosperity is to try and control this process, and we have totally failed at that. Many of my friends can't find jobs because the illegals will work for less than minimum wage, and no social security taxes have to be paid.

Just because our welfare system is in the crapper and needs to be overhauled, does NOT mean that we need to allows MILLIONS of ILLEGAL people into this country.

If you are not going to follow our immigration laws, how can we trust you to follow any others?

What makes a person illegal to be in this country? Are you for real? If they come here without going through the proper channels and getting their papers, they are here illegally, duh.
