And if so did it work?

Yes I swear by these. I have been using them for years and it is the only thing I ever reccommend for clients, friends and family. Those high priced brands are way overrated. I would however use the 4 in 1 drops as they kill flea eggs as well. The 3 in 1 only kill fleas, not the eggs. Otherwise you might have to go through the whole process again in 2 or 3 weeks. Be careful to get the right weight appications as well.

I found Hartz ineffective plus, I read in the paper today that the OTC brands may cause seizures. I've had excellent results from Advantage from the vet.

The only over the counter brand i have heard good reviews about is bio spot. Hartz is made to be sold at and below prices of others and they do not work as well. I did a comparison to ingredients on front line, bio-spot and so on. Bio spot is just as good as front line, for those whom cannot get, or cannot afford front line. Bio spot works the same, is water proof (after 48 hours) (as front line) ingredients are the same, just costs less and made available to those that can not get front line some stores sell front line over the counter but it is still costly. Hartz is cheap, for just that reason, I'm sure it works to a point, but like stated you get what you pay for. And i believe it is not water proof as others. If you can afford a few extra dollars and can not get access to front line i would recommend bio spot, i have 5 dogs and it has not done me wrong...

Hartz and Zodiac use the cheapest chemicals on the market and are well known for causing severe allergic reactions that can lead to death.
