A random person came up to me in the grocery store and told me I looked very athletic and wanted to know what type of sports I played. I am female and do not play sports (I do workout though). Is this a complement or would it make you feel weird?

Its sort of in the middle. Because to not play sports and someone is saying you look that fit, then I think you may need to slow it down on working out so much. Its a good thing to be fit but when you are starting to look way way different than your normal body type then its time to ease up on so much workout time. Town it down to a few mins or a jog or so a day.

I am a guy but when a girl is athletic looking, that is good. I assume your body is probably tight, not much fat on you and most guys, especially other guys who workout and play sports, love girls with your body type. I am sure you would rather have someone say that then "chunky" "big boned" or "well rounded" right..lol

I'd treat it as a complement. Athletes are healthy people and to be told by a complete stranger that I'm athletic would make me feel good.

obviously you feel weirded out by it since your writing a question on it. but sometimes it can be taken as a compliment because alot of men like the athletic types. but theres nothing wrong with that all you should have said was thank you but i dont play sports i workout. alot of men say that to me to because idance but i guess you can say i play sports because dance is one.

Well, it would be really weird for me if it was a random person. However, you should take it as a compliment for someone to notice that you working out has paid off.

Don't take it the wrong way, that person just thought you had a great physic and was complimenting you on it and just probably wanted to know what he/she could do to look as good as you do. I've gone up to people that I didn't know and asked what perfume they were wearing cos it smelled so good, and I've asked about haircuts as well, they were all so nice and were flatered by my compiment.
