Reason asking is that I recently posted some questions about evolution and I fially understand it and it makes sense. But I still believe in Christ too. So isn't it possible you can believe in both?

I studied Ecology and Evolution in college and half the faculty were Christian. It is totally possible to believe in both. I had some great discussions with them and they essentially felt as though they were unfolding the beauty of God's creation.

Don't let the dogmatists talk you out of this newfound revelation.

I was never a christian, so no, I don't believe in both. But millions and millions of Christians also accept the science of evolution. There need be no contradiction.
You can't believe that Genesis was the literal story of how God created man and then women and the entire universe in seven days and still accept what science has revealed. But it's only a relatively small group of Christians who reject science and evolution.
There is nothing in evolution that says that there is no God. Science does not attempt to show, nor does it show, that there is no God. There could have been a creator who used the big bang and evolution to create. Belief in God is a supernatural claim and science only discusses the natural world. The Catholic Church, for instance, says that it's perfectly acceptable to believe in evolution and in Christianity.

Feel free to e-mail if you'd like more help understanding evolution. There is a lot of misinformation about evolution out there, it's great that you are making a real effort to at least listen.

The Gnostic Christians would have no issue with evolution.

Nothing illogical is from God.

It takes a bit of understanding to know where they are coming from but the universe is way bigger than "regular" Christianity and all religions play a part and are therefore not to be tolerated but actively loved.

Blessed Be!

If you truely understand evolution and science then technically no. The reason I say that is evolution indicates it all happend by chance and not some supernatural being and science is "finding natural explanations for occurences." Thereby negating any possibility for a supernatural entity. But if you ignore those two things then yes you can be.

I was a Catholic until I was about 9.

Many years ago as a Christian I believed in both and I still believe both make sense in combination with each other (creationism & evolution). I can be contacted on myspace under the name Keltasia.

You cannot believe that this world evolved from a one celled amoeba and still be a Christian. You may believe in Christ and evolution, but Satan believes in Jesus, and I'm certain he's not a Christian. By believing in evolution, you are not believing the whole Word of God, which says God created everything. You can't have your cake and eat it too. For me, it takes way too much faith to believe that everything in this world got the way it is by mere chance. From a purely logical standpoint, it's much easier & more logical to believe everything was just created by God.

The only issue I came across as a Christian evolutionist was that Jesus was supposed to redeem the sins of Adam. This original sin was supposed to be the beginning of all harm in the world, but the theory of evolution teaches that disasters and the food chain existed long before humans had a chance to sin.

I have no problem with it. Pope JPII said something like "God can use a "theory' like evolution..."

Fifty years ago Pope Pius XII said almost the same thing in the encyclical Humani generis: "The Teaching Authority of the Church does not forbid that, in conformity with the present state of human sciences and sacred theology, research and discussions, on the part of men experienced in both fields, take place with regard to the doctrine of evolution, insofar as it inquiries into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existent and living matter."

Nothing new here....

You may believe in Christ, but we scientists prefer that you be convinced by the evidence for evolution.

Once you begin to understand that evolution is the process through which creation unfolds than the two are no longer in conflict but instead are in agreement.
