people are ignorant, just look at these posts:

wheredagoldat- umm the pope didn't say they were going to Hell, he said nothing even remotely close to that. How about reading the actual document.

i'm even going to discuss the person who's spelling Catholic with a K.

byHisgrace- number 1 catholics don't believe its works alone. They believe faith and works, try reading James. or, if you want red letters, try matt. 25: 31-36, something about Jesus giving Heaven to those who aided the poor and the sick.

Fred-saying Protestant churches can't be called churches under the Catholic definition(apostolic tradition and sacraments) is far from saying they'll go to Hell. again, try actually reading the document instead of the snippet on Yahoo.

ecucomboy- Jesus said He would build a church "on this rock I will build by Church"

King's Kid- I think we can safety take the position that Jesus was using a hyperbole, either that or you sin everyday when you address your dad. (it says no man on earth)

Don't forget that Jesus gave the apostles the power to forgive sins, and priests are successors to the apostles...put it together. But Catholics are supposed to confess to God too.

Also, somewhere in the old testament it says something like "man cannot be married to both wife and scripture"

The bible says the prayers of the saints are incense. (Rev., not sure of the verse, but it goes something like: incense, which are the prayers of the holy ones, went up before GOD)

I don't have any hatred toward any Catholic person, some of your doctrine is correct and some of it is terribly off. I just think that the Catholics have some how extremely missed God's message some where along the line. I must admitted that the Catholic church has a history of changing God's word and ways to fit their own perceptions, desires and needs. At the same time they establish un-biblical traditions and laws that they think the Lord smiles on but in actually He doesn't because it oppresses His people. Who does the Pope think he is to tell another man that he has to choose between marriage and serving the Lord, like he can't be married and be a leader in the church. What? Where in the bible does it say that Priest can't marry? I remember Paul saying it is better to marry than to burn. And what is this I hear that Catholics must regularly confess their sins to a "Father" what they can't confess them to God themselves, or do you think God assigns these "Fathers" to be a mediator to the mediator Jesus Christ who is already our mediator to the only Father who should bear that title "Father" or have Catholics struck the scripture Matthew 23:9 from God's Holy Scriptures, where Jesus says

9: "And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven."

And why do you bow your knee and pray to Mary and the other Saints as though they can hear you, as blessed is they are God is still the only one who answers prayer and He wants to be the only one our prayers go up to, for the Word says that our prayers are like sweet incence to Him. But there is too much confusion and inaccuracy and unscriptural mess in the Catholic doctrine, I could be here all night. It would be cool if I could get a letter to the Pope adressing these matters, but these are some of my issues with the Catholic traditions and doctrines.

Don't worry about people like this "jack" character who posted the first answer on this question, people like that know nothing of these matters and their comments aren't valid and shouldn't be taken seriously. I'll pray for those who are under catholic traditions that confuse them from hearing God's un-compromised and un-tampered with Word.

What I believe comes from my Lord, Jesus Christ, not from the Catholic "religion"
Jesus' church is all His believers and followers, not some denomination who thinks they started the Christian faith. It was started by Jesus, Himself. I read His word, and obey it. I love Him with all my heart, and He is my Lord and Savior. Anyone who believes in Him, and is "Born Again" will enter the kingdom of Heaven. He said it from His own mouth. How much plainer can that be to anyone?
The pope exalts himself, like he is Jesus. I have observed him allowing people to worship him, and lay palm branches before him, just as they did for Jesus as He rode into Jerusalem on the colt. It sickened me when I saw this, and it still does. I can't imagine the Lord not being angered by this. Open your eyes, so that you may see the wrong in this. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God!
In the end, they will come saying Lord, Lord, didn't we do all your work while we were here on earth? And Jesus will say "Depart from Me. I never knew you!"
You cannot get into heaven by works!!!! It is by being "born again." And by the grace of God, not by anything we do, lest we should boast!! Like you are doing now. Yes, there are those in the Catholic church who will go to heaven, just like in other churches, but, not if they are not Born again!

Because katholiks are being decieved by the Katholik church and the Pope and his priest. They teach another gospel and worship a Mary, neither of which are found in the Bible. Oh yeal! they believe their church doctrines, teachings, writings are equal to or greater than the Word of God, which is the Bible alone. Thats why people mess with CATHOLICS. It's the duty of a Christian to warn those who are being mislead.

Amen to that, I have been trying to tell them for months, the media hates the Church and does not print or say anything nice about all the charity work and helping the homeless, only negative things which are sometimes false.

I love going to Church, I feel closer to God there and love the music, Mass fulfills me

Jesus told his followers to pray directly to G-d. Jesus was not intending to set up a massive church heirarchy -- because he'd seen that the Jewish church heirarchy of his day had become corrupt.

You get in the news you become fair game for criticism simple as that. Jerry Falwell got the same treatment so they are being democratic.

> we love our brother protestents

Aren't you aware that as of last week all protestants are going to hell. Oh, I get it. You love the sinners but hate their sin of being protestant.

You seem to think that the catholics mess with no one. Think deeper.

It seems that people hate us because they don't understand us and they don't want to take the time to get to know us.

Your pope, who you trust so much, just told the entire world that what they beleive is false religion and defective. And you have a problem with people talking about you now?
