He wanted "deviled ham"?

Great expose' above submitted by "Mother".
And, did you know that the first ambassador Jesus commissioned was this man, a lunatic who lived in a cemetery (burial caves)!? The encounter with the man is explosive. The disciples are horrified. But Jesus isn't. Jesus' mere appearance humbles the demons. They felt safer in a herd of pigs than in the presence of God, and ask to be sent into the swine. Jesus consents. As the stunned disciples look on, Jesus goes into action and God delivers a lunatic. Then Jesus said to the man "Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you and how he has had mercy on you." Mark 5:18. God still sends the message to the unworthy, and he still uses the unworthy as messengers.

He didn't have them run off a cliff. That was the demons. They wanted to get out of the pigs. So they killed them.

This situation shows the wisdom of God.
The demons did not want to go back into "the abyss". ( They were not going to be killed , as some have stated)

They thought they could escape that by being in the pigs.
They did not have the foresight or understanding to figure out how the pigs would react to being demon-possesed.

In the end, they did not escape their fate. So it will be with people who think they are wiser than God and can bargain with Him.

Why should man not eat pork?
Why were demons transferred into pigs?
Why were we told not to cast pearls unto swine?

They are all three related items.
I know the answer to all three questions.

I'll save the answer for the jokes and humor section.

Because, the demons asked mercy for Jesus not to kill them, and they asked to go into the swine. Jesus said Okay, but killed them anyway.
Read the Bible a little closer next time.

Supposedly, it is what the demons really wanted...to be set free or something to that effect. I don't know, I've read that story dozens of times and it still doesn't set well with me.

The best way to get the answer is to watch "the exorcist" movie. The priest threw himself to the window after the devil possessed him. Then you will understand why the pigs run off the cliff.
