Yes I have been to Dushanbe, Tajikistan more than 4 times. It is a country with rich Islamic culture. They speak Tajik, and most of its people are muslim. Some people are hospitable, but there are some that can be racist, especially if you are white. They have radicals there, so just stay in the safe areas. Tajikistan is not very hot. It is a hot country, but not that hot. Expect about 85-89 Degrees Farenheit. Tajikistan has lots of mountains. It isn't a very rich country though. There are lots of poor people, but hey, you can find that anywhere. When you go there, be very respectful. Don't offend any part of Islam. Islam is taken very seriously in Tajikistan. If you do the slightest thing to offend Islam, you can get punished very badly. Tajikistani food is very tasty and good, so you won't have trouble finding food. The country isn't very clean and isn't very dirty. It's in between. I have family in Tajikistan, so I know about these things. Almost everything is cheap in Tajikistan. It's not like Europe. Everything is very very very very cheap. Taxis are a good source of public transporation, so you will not have any problems with that. Overall, I guarantee you will enjoy Tajikistan. Its not like the Western World, Africa, Middle East, Europe, or Asia. Tajikistan is like its own little world. Anyone who visits Tajikistan will never forget it. Its very different and incredible. Trust me, once you go there, and return, you will start missing Tajikistan once you come back. You will want to return. Have a safe trip, and enjoy Tajikistan.

how i wish i could visit dushanbe and learn some tajik culture.
