Place an ice pack on the area for fifteen minutes, several times a day. This is going to help with the pain reduction. If your doctor did not give you any pain medication try using Advil liquid capsules four times daily.

Everyones body heals differently, so you will have to be paitent and eventually it will heal in 1 to 3 months probaly. As for the pain, it should subside in about a week or so and in the mean time, any physician worth his salt should have given you a perscription to a narcotic pain reliever for a bullet wound if there was no special countering reason for doing so.

PS. Thank you for walking the beat and keeping us safe. You may not get alot of thanks on your job, but I know without law enforcement we are simply a rwanda or daifur, where the people that have guns terrorize and expliot the people without them.
