I was just wondering. I do not wear mine ever but i do make the children wear one. I have written permission from my dr. , so I cant be fined. The seat belt causes great pain in my stomach due to many surgeries to it.

Yes, because my current vehicle has a particularly offensive buzzer. I lost a lot of faith in seatbelts when our orthopedic surgeons pushed through the last "mandatory" bill. I think it is because corpses don't have to have bones fixed, and severly maimed accident victims have to have a lot of surguries.

I've driven about 30,000 miles per year for each of the last 25 years. The car doesn't move until ALL occupants are secured. I have never had an accident and I intend to never be in one. I hope I never find out if my airbag works or how sore the seat belt can leave me.
I did assist a cop pull two drunks (one died) out of a car wrapped around a telephone pole once. The passenger did as well as he did because he had his seat belt on - driver's side was wrapped on the pole.

I wear my seat belt all the time. I wear it for my safety and the safety of my children. It might save your life. If you don't wear a seat belt you might get thrown out of your car if you were in a collision. Your body would be splattered all over the road. You might be deformed up as if a Train just hit you.
If I had a medical problem like you, just maybe I wouldn't be driving a car. It's not worth loosing my life because of a car accident!

I used to not wear it. Then I became a cop. I've seen what happens to people that don't wear their seat belts.
Are you ready for the truth? Several people I've seen in bad accidents have walked away with a couple broken bones or a concussion here and there, while passengers with belts on were severely injured and sometimes killed.
Many times, the one person not wearing the belt actually becomes the missile that bounces around the inside of the car on an impact and does alot of damage to his friends and family.
I wear my seat belt to protect my friends, not me.
BTW, this is not propaganda BS. I've seen it.

As a police officer, I have seen the remains of too many people after being in a car accident without a seatbelt. I have also had to go to a parent and tell them of the death of their child because the kid wasn't wearing a seat belt. You might think it's cool not to wear one, but it's less cool to have the steering wheel implanted in your face, or to be dead. I ALWAYS wear a seat belt. None of my kids can drive without wearing a seatbelt. No one rides in any of our cars without wearing a seat belt. Make it part of your routine everytime, and you won't even notice it anymore, until it saves your life.

Think you have stomach pain now, wait until you impact the steering column of your vehicle with your chest. Can you pad your seat belt to make it more comfortable so you can wear it? I've worked fire rescue for 14 years now and beg folks to please buckle up.

I wear my seatbelt out of habit all the way back from Driver's Ed. And no, I wouldn't do it just to avoid a ticket, I do it to avoid a skull fracture from rebounding off or THROUGH the windshield.

I wear it. I wore it before it was required because i'd rather get a busted collarbone than my head through the windshield. same with a helmet on a bike, a little annoyance is better than your head grinding the pavement.

Always. It's what stops us from smashing into the steering wheel.
Remember...There are TWO crashes in every accident. The first is your car hitting something else, the second is your internal organs hitting your rib cage. Seat belts keep everything secured inside you.
