I think your Mom is on the right track. 104 degree temp isn't that crazy, but your dog had it before the vaccinations. It could be stressed out, but I wouldn't think that a Rat Terriers typical behavior would be that sedate, even at 5 the day after a vet trip and shots. I am sure it has had vaccines before by this age, so allergic reactions are far less typical, unless your dogs has had a hyper response to the antibodies.
Regardless...check it's temp now. If it's around 102, you should be fine waiting a day or so, but take it's temp daily. Make sure it's at least drinking water. It doesn't take much for a dog to become severely dehydrated, even the little guys. The temp could have been elevated because of the 45 minute wait to see the vet as well.
Your being a good owner, and if your Mom is concerned, let her take her to another vet and make sure your dog is okay, it can't hurt. All dogs should be so lucky.
Best Wishes.

My cat erupted in a "sore" on her back...between her shoulder blades. All that had happened recently was inoculations. I took her to the "vet" and they suggested she was bitten by a spider. Also, thought that an "anti-nausea" injection was the cure.
When I refused the shot (my hand hovering over her haunches) they told me they thought I might have eczema or some such.
This is all I can say to you.....all medicine these days is BAD. Women are watching their children go "mental" because of vaccinations. I don't want to seem callous, but I can't type too long...Suffice it to say, my cat....my beloved girl...has had no boosters for two years. I'll take my chances.

Hello there, You know when we have jabs for certain things, and we can have mild reactions to the jabs because we have been given a mild dose of whatever the vaccination is for.....maybe this is so for a dog, and it makes us not feel right for a couple of days. Say you have the flu jab, some people get symptoms of the flu. If your dog does'nt pick up with in a couple of days I would seek help else where , just in case your dog does'nt have the immunities to fight the vaccinations. I hope your dog is fine...............Jo

We have the same exact dog and my dog also got those same shots.
Dont worry to much though becasue my dog was just like that for about a week and i was told that it was perfectly normal because they are in pain and im sure your dog is sore. so just limit physical activity for a while and make it easy for him to get to food. however if they arent back to normal in about a week or so than contact your vet.

sure. every time you notice those style of indications like this on your dogs it particularly is a demonstration that there is a few thing incorrect. If this has been happening for each week, then it particularly is nicely worth taking him to the vet for a examine.
