I find it happens if I've woken up during the first time that I was dreaming it (even if only slightly). I have in the past gone back to dreams that I woke up from and had them again, and made changes to them. Dreams are your brains way of working through what is in your unconscious/conscious, although saying that, some dreams will be still quite random. I don't like it when you wake from an unpleasant dream, and then go back into it when you fall asleep - you then have to wake yourself, and think about other things to stop yourself returning to it again- argh!

Well, It depends. Based on judeo-christian sources, if you dream something, most likely it is something or related to something that you were thinking about during the day. However, if it was not then a dream has to be interpreted by someone who knows how to properly translate them. It would be wise to leave them untranslated because 'an untranslated dream is like an untranslated letter.
