Toilet paper degrades easier in water.

Tissue is manufactured to hold up a little better to wetness - all that mucous, you know.

Toilet paper ~ and we do use the triple thickness or whatever.

Whether you use 6 squares of triple thickness or 18 squares of uber thin, it's all the same amount. The diff with the triple means 1) far less packaging 2) less toilet paper tubes 3) less trips to the store for more.

Good point there by Jeanbug, if you use the thin stuff you'll use more sheets of it (that's what I do anyway).

How about planting a tree then you can use as much toilet paper or tissue as you like and you'll have more than offset all the negative consequences.

Water ,

Using toilet paper is one step away from using a stone ,and you dont really get clean ,this is a dirty primative habit

In Mexico they even save it in a bucket in the bath room
a revolting habit .

Gentle men and women ,use a bidet
you wash your bum ,they also do this in Asia

This is much cleaner, and cheaper ,and never can be overdone with abrasive effects as in the case of diareah and having to go very often and having to wipe a lot

What would be better would be to use something similar to a hemp cloth diaper. Once you get the basket filled you would just toss it in the wash on sanitary cycle and hang dry it.
