there is a big f*cking different
YOU CAN SEE JAIL!!!!
So they know you are just being dumb for saying "i dont believe jail exists"
that has nothing to do with where God sends anyone.
We can't see love but we still say "love is in the air"
well that goes to air
I DONT BELIEVE AIR EXIST
so that means that i dont breath it
I DONT BELIEVE IN LOVE
so that means i dont believe it
how about this
I DONT BELIEVE IN YOU
so poof be gone you dont exist

I am sorry, this is a very lame attempt to prove hell exists when there is no proof or evidence. Jail can be proved, just drive by any jail house and can be visited, there is much evidence for the existance of jail, but absolutly no evidence at all for hell, just religious faith.
How about this if there was never any evidence of jail existing and no one could prove the existance and no one knew of anyone who has ever been there and returned with any convincing proof, than why would we believe in Jail. this is so lame.
I garuntee you that if we could drive by hell, and see the people in torment, if news cameras were allowed inside like they are in jail, and if we could go there and visit people like we can jail, then you might have an arguement here, but otherwise this is just lame. I am sorry.

Just a point. Was Jesus crucified because he claimed to be the Son of God or because they were afraid he might be?

equating humans a criminal,
equating erring in life crime
equating Hell as Jail. all these logically leads one to conclude that God is Jailor..
God created us to enjoy his creations, and any error will be forgiven by kind God.. who loves us all .. why should he send any one in to jail or hell for eternity..
Now the modern age has changed the context and one needs to feel bliss inwardly when he can look within by Meditation...
Now fear of God is replaced by Knowing of Self ... so Live Love and Laugh TOTALLY in Here and Now... then the Light of God will descend upon each one of us and there will be no eternal hell but eternall heaven.

An interesting point that no one has brought up yet is the fact that religions and spiritual belief systems in general do all support the idea that there is something more than this material world. What is "I'? One other thing that most of them have in common is that their texts are largely symbolic. Especially those belief systems that began in the East. Christianity is one of these.
Jesus himself often spoke in parables and with symbolic language. His purpose wasn't to be grammatically correct; his purpose was to pass on a meaning.
If you look up the idea of "Hell" throughout the history of the world, you will see that it varies over time--even within Christianity.
Read Dante's Inferno, Purgatory and Paradise, and you will see symbolism at it's best.
If you are going to be a Christian that asks athiests and people of other religions to consider your point of view, I feel that you should take the time to educate yourself on the subject. Don't take the word of a preacher who may have simply gotten his beliefs from the preacher he heard as a child, or from his family. If that preacher or the family had some errors in their way of thinking, those errors would be passed along. Read and interpret for yourself!
Read the Bible in it's entirety. Read about the history of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. You don't have to agree with the other religions, but their histories are tied directly to the history of your own religion. If you understand their perspective, your own will be stronger.
When you read your own Bible, read the references in the margins. "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?" Jesus didn't mean that literally. He was invoking midrash. Basically, he knew that anyone within hearing--or who later heard the story--would think immediately of Pslams 22. If you read the references in the margins, it'll take you to things like that.
Read the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and realize that there are discrepencies between the four. For instance, three say "Anyone who is not with us is against us", and one says "Anyone who is not against us is with us". From your Christian point of view, this doesn't have to weaken your belief. But it should make you realize that it is folly to take the Bible word for word. It wasn't meant that way. Not by those who wrote it!
You have the right to believe that the Bible is the "Word of God". But realize that a "word", by defnition, is a symbol of something else. In this case, the Bible is a symbol for purity of spirit for Christians. That doesn't mean that you take each word literally.
By the way, the line quoted in Tombstone, "...and Hell followed with him." is actually "...and Hades followed with him." Hades being a personification. An example as to how mis-interpretations begin...

Well, it is possible to prove the existance of a jail.
Do you believe that if a person believes in Valhalla then that person will go to Valhalla when he dies?
Do you believe in the river Styx?
Do you believe in the other versions of heaven or hell in any over the other religions?
Do you believe that the other gods of these other religions exist? Especially the roman gods where there were many different ones.
If you do not believe in any of these then it is kind of silly for you to expect anyone to believe in your religion.

Jail is a real place. A scary, real place.
Edit: You should correct yourself. Hell is not a scary place, the theory that there is a hell is a scary thought. There is no evidence that hell exist.

You have it a bit wrong - it's not that I don't think god will send me to hell because I don't believe in hell.
It is that I don't believe in god, don't believe in hell, and don't believe that a kind and loving father figure type god, if he did exist, would have permitted something like hell to exist in the first place.
Does that make sense ?
