Whenever I paste it, it copies the hidden cells also. Is there a way of pasting only the ones that are not hidden??

You do have to select only the visible columns, if that's all you want to copy.

However the easy way to select just the visible columns, rather than holding Ctrl and selecting each column, is to:
1 - select all the columns you want to copy, even if it includes some hidden ones in the middle
2 - hit F5 (which is Edit -> Go To), pick Special, and pick "Visible cells only"
3 - Edit -> Copy

Then go to the receiving file and Edit-Paste. This will paste only the visible columns.

If it's not working, pls. add detail or e-mail.

I just tried this and it worked o.k.

First, open the file from which you want to copy.
Select the columns you want to hide.
click Format
cl Columns
cl Hide

Select the remaining columns, Edit, Copy

Go to the receiving file
in Row 1, in the appropriate column, click Edit, Paste

Only those columns that were unhidden should copy over.
