Color doesn't have anything to do with what breed a cat is, except if the breed is only allowed to have certain colors, in which case, you'd know what breed it is, for sure. But, even that isn't always the case, I had a half-Himalayan that I could easily have passed off as a purebred Birman, looks-wise.
Nobody here can tell you, for sure, what breed your cat is.
Tabby is not a breed. It is only a color pattern.

It's hard to tell without seeing the cat, but this might help:
A tabby typically has stripes, spots, or swirls in it's coat. They are especially noted for the "M" shaped markings in between their ears.
If it's not a tabby, I'd check Wikipedia or a cat breed website for details.

If your cat has tabby on its face, legs, paws and tail ONLY, but the rest is cream-coloured, you may have a tabby-point Siamese. Siamese only have colour or pattern on their faces, tails and legs; the rest of them is cream or white. Look at this and see if it's right;

maybe a butterscotch tabby mix, with maybe an all white cat.
does it have an M on its forhead? like an M shape in a darker color starting over its one eye and ending over the other? if so it is a tabby.

Probably just a domestic shorthair...
You'd need a picture to be sure though.

hi
would be better if you could add a pic but it sounds like a domestic short hair, white/tabby, if he has more than 2 colours he is called a tortashell.
