I want your opinion on clothes for dogs and I don't mean like a coat or boots for when it's way cold. I mean clothes i.e tanks, tees, swimsuits, hoodies, coats, dresses, ect. Do you think it is silly or that it makes perfect sense to buy your dog clothes, and would or have you. Be honest I wanna know. Thanx.

My dog actually loves to be dressed up. In the summer I don't even consider putting him in clothes it is just too hot and I consider it to be inhumane. Summer time is just when he gets different leash and collar and things to make him look good for going out.

In the winter he has clothes on quite often, but mostly when we go out. When I have to run errands and things, he usually goes with me in the winter, so I put a shirt or sweater on him, depending on the temperature, so he will be comfortable in the car (he is never left alone, another family member always goes with me) He also has a pair of pajamas to snuggle up in at night, which he loves. He also has a nice thick snow jacket that I got him when I found out how much he loves to play in the snow. He would just want to play all day in the snow, but if we played for any time at all he would be soaked and cold when he came in. So, I found a snowsuit and put it on him whenever he goes out so he can play a little longer without getting wet and cold. Of course, a rain coat is a must as well.

To be honest, my dog probably has more clothes than I do now, but he mostly just wears them when we go out and people will see him. People love it and he loves getting the attention.

No matter what though, I always think of my dog first. If I fealt he didn't like it, I would never do it and I always consider the temperature before putting him anything.

I think it looks dumb. Hallowe'en is one thing, but every day wear is a waste of money, your dog looks ridiculous and the owner looks like they have nothing better to do. And I'm no Paris Hilton, lol. Each to their own, right?! :)

I tried to find a blanket/ jacket for my puppy in the winter, as it was so cold, and all I could find at the pet store was articles of clothing for dress up. There was nothing that would have protected my little guy from the snow, and I was annoyed by that!

I normally don't dress my dogs, but I like to buy them shirts that have a message that reflects the dogs personality. For example I have a puppy Cocker Spaniel and she is very moody so I buy her a shirt that says "Cranky", so everyone that sees her already know a little bit about your dog. You can try that if you like.

I think it is absurd to dress dogs in clothes. How humiliating for them! Dogs are way cool companions, not little barbie dolls.

That said.......if you have a short haired breed that can not withstand very cold temperatures, you are obligated to their well-being, even if you must, sigh, put sweaters on them

I think some things like bathing suits are the stupidest things ever. But coats when its cold and a shirt or something is fine and cute :-D

Well it sort of is but some people like to dress their dogs up in clothes because they think of them of their children

i have never bought my dog clothes it is silly my dogs hate it when they get clothes on because little children put shirts on them once and they ripped them to shreds i dont think that dogs reallt like it the only time you should give them clothes is if their hairless in the winter and need protection from the cold and in that case you also have to give them sunscreen in the summer it sounds weird but its true.

Totally up to you. If your dog tolerates clothes then it is up to you. My female dog loves to wear little doggy dresses because she has learned the word "cute" and when some says "how cute" she know she will be getting some pats on the head and belly rubs.

in the summer its too hot to put clothing on your pet for fun.

in the house with air that's okay.

during the winter months when its not too hot for them its okay.

I think its cute to see clothing on animals but not alot of things.

pants and long sleeves are too much.

theme costumes are cute, like a bathing suit or joggin shorts or somthing.
