Hi laila.. I dn't think u r a mental case.. we al have our ups & downs, this doesn't mean we lost our minds... May be u were depressed bcoz of sthg or having such pressures that prevent any normal poeple from concentrating...
& don't worry about not having friends. may be u r the type who just prefer to be alone or having "space"..If u r sure u r not that type & u do complain of not having friends, then I suggest that u start trying having some of them.. don't let some refusal stop u, just make sure u r picking the right people, the good friends...
Good luck.

There is so much more to you than we can ever know from your e-mail.
Trust that your parents care for and love. They are concerned because most college age persons are interested in having a social life beyond their families.
Do you share with your parents about the people that you are meeting and interacting with through your classes?
Can you access so counseling through the college?

No, but if you were outgoing before and now you never go out, then there is still a problem. If you are not seeing a counselor of some type, please go and get the help that you need. Typical young people cannot be stopped from going out and having a social life. So you have a ways to go yet. Get going and good luck!!

Maybe your just happy alone, your parents arent the right people to decide your mental health situation, maybe go to a doctor and sort things out. Or try a group thing and you might warm up to the public a little more.

Your parent cares for you and doesn't want to lose you. Finish your education. There is time for all the other stuff after your education is complete. That is what your parent is trying to help you understand. Don't commit suicide. You will make your parent cry for the rest of their life.

They are worried about you. Are you getting treatment? If you are not getting out, you could relapse. Get therapy.
