After how he got treated at Milwaukee, I would totally understand his position. That was just horsecrap getting him out of the car while he was doing quite well in the race. Im sure sponsors would of understood Gibbs keeping Almiroa in that car if it was running up front.
Plus this would have to put some other young drivers on notice if Gibbs wants them to drive for the team. If thats the only time Gibbs will do that, hes gotta convince young drivers that is the case.

It's no surprise that Aric wants to leave Gibbs racing to me. Although Gibbs has one of the best teams in Nascar (Cup and Busch), he still doesn't get to race a lot of races because Denny Hamlin has to be in the Busch car most of the time, who is one of the top Cup drivers that is coming into the Busch series and ruining it. The Busch series is supposed to be its own series, so that young drivers (such as Almirola) can make a name for themselves and maybe one day get a Cup ride. When Hamlin got in the car at Milwaukee when Almirola had a definite shot to win, it was, in my opinion, a bad call on the whole team and I support his decision to want to go to Ginn. At least there he'll be able to race more.

He will be splitting seat time with Mark Martin in the 01 car at Ginn Racing. I don't blame him for leaving Gibbs after the Hamlin incident at the Busch race.

It's official, Aric Almirola is leaving JGR to drive for Ginn Racing. He will co-pilot the #01 car with Mark Martin. Regan Smith will take over full time duties of the #14 car. Both Sterling Marlin and Joe Nemechek have been released, no word on the fate of the #13 car.

I'm not surprised and I hope that he continues to be racing Busch because I think he is still developing and to many times have teams brought up drivers from the Busch Series to the Cup Series and they werent ready and they struggled in their cars big time. He is going to take over the rest of Mark Martin's schedule and that will give him some very valuable experience and he will have a great mentor at Mark Martin. I know it wasn't Denny's fault that he had to take over the car because the sponsors told him to do that and sponsorship in this sport is major and if he didnt the sponsors were probably going to take away their sponsorship. To them its all about having the best drivers in the cars and making lots of money.

Its true . Just heard Sterling Marlin on Sirius talking about it. Reagan Smith is out of the Busch ride and into the 14. Aric Almirola is going to run the races that Mark Martin won't.
