What is dating like in Brazil?

At what point are a couple boyfriend and girlfriend? I'm dating a guy from Brazil and I've already met his mother, but I'm not sure if that is a common thing or if it is really serious? please help!

People from Brazil are awesome,sincere,sports fanatics ( soccer,auto rising) and have a lot of pride of his country since Brazil is the biggest in South America in population and geography.People from Rio of Janeiro, are a little scums,but people from San Paolo or another cities are awesome.I know people from South America and I know several countries in there.
