Hi,
I recently got my second lobe peircing and have been wanting to get more piercings. I wanted to get a 3rd hole high in my left lobe and a cartilage next to it. There are a few tattoo (and body piercing shops I guess) around here but i don't wanna go there for something this simple. So do you suggest I do it myself or go to a mall kiosk or something?

I just realized that the guns mall shops use are bad for cartilage piercings so that is out of the question. I got my second holes at piercing pagoda and its doing fine so i would consider that for the lobe piercing, but i wanted to get them both done at the same time.

K, forget about the mall and doing it my self. I heard that you can get a piercing at the doctors office, so its between that and the tattoo shop. Which of these would be better to get a peircing.

Go to the piercing shop - when you go to the mall they don't pierce you they puncture you - piercings heal better and (in my experience) faster.

I suggest going to a body piercing shop and having it done, even if you may think that it's only something simple. Doing it yourself or having your ears pierced with a piercing gun is unsanitary and unsafe. For more information on why getting pierced at a professional piercing studio is better for you, visit www.safepiercing.org (this website it run by APP, the Association of Professional Piercers) and check out the FAQ section. Good luck and be safe!

Go to the body piercing shop. They do it with a needle which actually removes the piece of cartiage instead of just shoving it aside like with a gun. The healing time is so much faster too. I have several piercing that were done at a tattoo/piercing shop.

Doing it yourself is a tad painful..because unlike at a mall or at a piercing place it doesn't go right through..it does take alot of pushing :P in my expierience anyway

Then again going to a mall koisk to get it done is like getting what you pay for. Yes it may be cheaper, but it's also less sterile...it is impossible to fully sterilize the gun they use. Going to a piercing shop may be more expensive but they are more sterile and it hurts less.

Simple or not..a piercing is a piercing, regardless of where it is on your body.

Go to a tattoo shop it's no biggie. They're pros and know what they are doing The kiosk is just as fine, but some are sketchy and dont do it yourself you can get an infection. and contrary to what someone else suggest Clair's doesnt do cartilage.

DO NOT GET IT DONE AT THE MALL.
DO NOT EVER GET A CARTILAGE PIERCING DONE AT THE MALL.
The gun can get STUCK IN YOUR EAR. Do you know how messed up your ear will be?
I've gotten my cartilage done twice at a tattoo/piercing shop and they use real needles, its easy, done quick and they put in the right jewelry, not a stupid stud because those can mess up the piercing, too.
Don't feel lame, go to a piercing place, they do for the same price, too.

NO NO NO, don't go to the mall! Go to a professional!! There is no way to sterilize piercings guns. You are putting yourself at risk for a serious infection by going to the mall.

I did 6 of my 8 piercings myself. If you think you can handle it.. do it yourself, and then clean it with rubbing alcohol.
