Well it wouldn't be a good thing, because to leave you the house would mean your Dad had passed on.

It is a good thing he cares about you and your future.

What if he's still living in it when you grow up - and by the time he passes, you've moved on or out of town?

Leaving you the house or not is his decision; what you do with it once it's yours is your decision.

To answer your question though, on whether it's a good thing or not, I think your dad has your best interest at heart - which makes it a good thing. :o)

That is very nice. You must be an only child? A good idea is for him to put your name on the title so there is no tax OR put the house into a trust. BUT you need to have the satisfaction , feelings of self worth and fulfillment of amassing your own fortune as well ;so get out there as if it werent coming to you! Best wishes
