Definitely not to young I know of several 3year olds that play golf go to a golf range or club and they will help you out! It is an ideal age for them to learn as there brains are so absorbent. My daughter is 3 years old and loves horse riding and she is a natural.

Go to the driving range and practice with him and once he is big enough get him U.S. Kids Golf clubs, they're the best junior clubs around, and he'll be able to progress through their system until he's 13 or 14. You should also let him chip around in the yard. He is only a kid, so don't worry he won't tear up the grass.

i wish my grandson wanted to play golf....i started him hitting balls at the range when he was four....you can buy him some golf clubs with a bag for around 75 dollars...that is about all you can do when their are that young, if he can hit the ball that is the main consideration... kids that young also tend to separate their hands on the club, that's about the only thing you can teach them at this age.

First of all, do you think it's to young? You're the parent of this child. Second, if your child wants to start playing golf take him to the driving range a few times and see how he likes it. Depending on how tall he is will depend on if he can even get clubs for his size since he is four.
Try putt-putting. That is what I started with. I was only three. I have been golfing ever since. Maybe he will be the next Tiger Woods.

4 is cool if he wants to do it. Make it fun. Invent and play little chipping and putting games around the green. And for God's sake, don't be one of those parents I see at the range critiquing and analyzing every swing their kid puts on it. That's a sure fire way of not only looking like a moron, but putting your kid off golf and most likely you as well.
Let him be a kid and have fun. He's not going to be the next Tiger Woods - and even if he does turn out to have some talent, it's not going to be because you browbeat him into it.

Good he is not too young it's a good age to start.trust him and motivate him as he plays and he will be the next Tiger Woods or the youngest golfer to be in professional golf
contact a local golf course near you and perform the necessary signings and you are ready to go

There's this golf course called "Willowbrook" and they had lessons there for young kids and I went to it. It really helped me but I'm not sure if they still have it...I think they do though... adults too...

my boy was swinging at 4. you can take him/ her to the driving range, or just to a big park and hit some balls around. mine is 6 1/2 now and has never played a real course, but we do the driving range thing quite a bit and practice chipping and putting (free at public courses)
