person using screen names Adreine Wilson, adriene.wilson, and w_adriene has stolen over 6500.00 fom me. After a seach at stopscammers.com it was apparent this is a ring located in Nigeria. This is not a good thing for yahoo to allow at there personals site once they are made aware of this. I truly hope that this person is stopped before more people are allowed to be scammed. The only provable name on record wher western union money is sent is Adehunle Kazeem.

This scam has been going on for years. You will be the middle man. They send you a certified check, you put it into your account. After you are sure it "clears", you send an amount via Western Union, keeping out your fee.

This has been on the news, even banks sometimes can't tell the check is a forgery.

The bottom line; Why would somebody give you free money. If it's free, it's not worth it. It's an expensive education.

Good luck in the future.

Contact the FBI and Treasury Department.
There has been many of these scams from Nigeria over the past few years. Usually asking to pay for something via Cashier's Check or Money Order - over pay. Once cashed they usually ask you to return change via Western Union Quick Collect.
These scams are usually found on ebay.com and craigslist.org. Yahoo cannot screen every member on their site, and unfortunately cannot be held responsible for it.
See your user agreement.

Contact the proper authorities to see if they can help.

Good Luck.

Yahoo can't really stop this stuff - people just change names and post again. You are the one responsible for being careful and questioning things that seem to good to be true.

And the name of the person receiving the western union money isn't necessarily their true name either. All that says is they had ID in that name when they picked up the money.
