Just curious. As a practicing witch, I've not really picked up on the talk behind our backs.
C'mon, be honest.
But please don't witness to me about Jesus. I'm a former Catholic and I'm fed up with it. Thanks.

angelktb, my breaking point came when a priest told me in confession that if I continued to see my atheist boyfriend, I was going to hell. Of course, I disagree with their views about women, homosexuals, and other religions, but let them be how they like.
All others, I appreciate the honesty, even though I might disagree.

And no, this question is not loaded. I am genuinely curious. If you can't answer in a non-vulgar way, you can email me. It's in my info.

Like any other religious people, I've met some that I like and some that I don't. But I think that the religion of Wicca can be a beautiful and fulfilling religion for those called to it. I'm simply not one of those people.
I feel that there are many people who use the term Wicca and self-claim being Wiccan without knowing diddly-squat about the religion that they're claiming. That's sad. And it does a dis-service to those who actually know and practice that religion.

It depends on where you are. I live in the UK where it is much more accepted, but no matter where you live, Wicca is a private spiritual path, is there a reason to broadcast your beliefs?
Most people lump any pagan religion in with "new age artsy fartsy stuff" without understanding that Wicca and pagan religions predate all organized religion. Others see it as a fantasy life popular because of "the craft" or "charmed" or "Harry Potter" but in the end, if you get comfort from it, don't worry.

I used to practice Wicca when I was in middle school. Alot of people did it because of the whole "witchcraft thing" However, I saw it differently. I like the idea behind it, especially the idea of the golden rule. Wicca to me is a very peaceful religion, one that has been around thousands of years before the faiths we have today and one that has a positive effect on those who practice it. I honestly felt closer to nature and had more respect for myself, others and everything else in my life when I practiced it.
My parents forced to me to go to church when they found out about my interest in it, but now that I am older I wouldnt mind getting more information about getting more involved with it.
And to answer your question (sorry about the lil rant)...ppl say that its evil and Wiccans are satans puppets cause its not Christian and we are gonna go to hell and yada yada yada. I am already sure you can guess the ignorant things that ignorant ppl spew out of thier mouths.
Blessed Be!

We have some Wiccans who live just outside of town, and when we cross each others paths in the grocery store they seem most friendly and helpful. Personally, I'd say too many people make a big deal about them. To be brutally honest (and yes, I am a theist) wiccans and gypsies fascinate me from a purely sociological perspective. I don't know much about them (Wiccans, that is), but I'd be interested in finding some accurate and unbiased information about them.

As an atheist, Wicca is one of the few religions I respect. Wiccans are accepting and generally tolerant, honor/worship the male AND female aspects of a deity equally - which attracts women as they get sick of being second fiddle as in all other religions. They don't come knocking on your door, they don't ask for donations and they don't try to convert you.
I do find some of their practices a little kooky but hey, no one is perfect.

Awsome, former Catholic too here, now Wiccan...
Can I ask you what was you're "breaking point" with the Roman Catholic Church? Two of my friends are also X-Catholic Wiccans and have stated either their viewpoint on homosexuals or sexist practices toward women.
Mine necessarily arent just those two, I acutally have quite a few...but what was yours if you dont mind me asking...
You can message me if you dont want to post it here. ^_^
Blessed Be.

I studied Wicca extensively, but ultimately chose not to practice. I think it's a beautiful religion, and I admire the fact that the feminine and the masculine are of equal importance. I say, practice on! I wish more religions were of such a peaceful respecting nature.

I don't have anything against wiccan people. I used to work with a couple of them and they were very nice, down-to-earth people. They seem very peaceful and environmentally conscious. By the way, I'm Catholic.

I have a couple Wiccan friends, and they are some of the most friendly, accepting people I know. Though I probably wouldn't become one myself, I am very open & interested to hearing about what they believe.

I do not know what Wiccans believe. You say you are a witch and that is enough for me to be turned off. You may be a really nice person but I would shy away from you. I have to add that the Bible says not to have anything to do with you.
This is a honest answer. Remember you asked.
