I will be turning 50 years old in August and wish to know how much of a survivor I am.

Welcome to the real over the hill gang. I am 52 and definately a survivor. I had breast cancer at 49 and completed treatment in time to celebrate the big 50. With advancements in healthcare in the past few decades and decline in birthrates, there are probably a lot more 50 year olds in the world than 2 year olds.... Enjoy this new phase of your life, the wisdom of years brings.

You are looking for statistics on "age-specific mortality rate". Rather than wade through pages of data for you, I recommend you search for this on your own. I just turned 46 and I often wonder the same thing myself!
