If the business is casual clothing and the boss wear casuals then I suggest you wear smart casual. A suit in those circumstances would be overdoing it. Present yourself in clean smart clothes that you would wear to a semi- formal occasion.
Wear proper shoes that are polished and have clean nails and hair done neatly.
You'll be fine. Remember to smile too.

Dude its better to be overdressed then under dressed. If you come in a suit you already have the upper hand. When i applied for a similar position i dressed up way more then i normally do to show class. This is an interview, it doesn't matter if you already work there. Show them that you want it, show them that you are serious about the position. I think it will put you ahead of the others to "dress for success!"

I would try to strike a balance between business casual and a formal suit. How about Dockers, an oxford cloth shirt and a blazer, no tie.
That way you aren't way over dressed, but you are sending a message that you are serious about the job/promotion.
Good luck!

I think you should wear the suit. It will show your interviewer that you are serious about this job interview and the job itself. Plus, you will stand out as the one who was different, who was taking it a little more seriously. Use anything you have to gain the upper hand.
Good luck!

Absolutely!!! Looking your best for an interview shows the interviewers that you take pride in looking professional. Dressing for the interview is almost as important as the interview itself.Confidence exudes when someone is dressed to the nines. Good luck with the interview.

A suit is never uncalled for, but don't dress better than your boss. If the interviewer is going to wear a suit, do the same. Don't worry about your friends they can take care of themselves.

Dress for the job you want - not the job you have.
Even if it's a bus/casual office.
Wear the suit.

Definately wear a suit. You need to dress for the job you want not for the job you have.

I wouldn't bother with the suit. But be sure your business casual is the best you have. Well pressed, clean, your best colors, good fit, etc.
Your employer already know you, but you still want to give the best impression you can. The suit may imply kissing up.

I think a suit might be too much, but business casual, something like nice pressed khakis or dockers, a nice shirt, and a tie would be perfectly appropriate.
