during the show to wait for the big wheel do they go back to their seats or a green room

They run back behind the sets, where they are devoured by wild animals. Think that tv is REALLY giving away all that stuff? Heck, no. But those wild dogs need to eat, even if they ARE spayed and neutered, per Bob Barker's specifications.
Either that, or they are led around back to a room to fill out a lot of paperwork for tax reasons.

back to their seats (or maybe a special holding row) until the Showcase Showdown.
If they win, they probably have to go to a room after the show, but not during, to sign the forms for tax purposes, etc.

If they lose they probably go home. If they win they probably go backstage in some sort of green rm.

I am sure they have seats. The winners have to pay taxes on
all their winnings, and the losers don't. :-})
