We are getting married in December and we need some ideas. We don't want to go on a cruise and we don't really want to travel very far because we are scared of bad weather since it will be winter time. We are in the Murfreesboro, TN area so hit me up with your suggestions!!!! Thanks!

I'm not from Tenesee, but in my situation, my fiancee and I don't really want to travel far, especially after all the craziness of the wedding. We're not interested in the tropics, or a cruise or anything, so what we decided to do is jump in the car with an atlas and just drive around and find neat little towns, bed & breakfasts, etc. We're from upstate NY, so we're going towards MA, CT, NJ, and PA for the ride home. I know alot of neat small towns so we're just going to wing it.

Well, the obvious choice would be Gatlinburg. They have some pretty nice honeymoon suites and packages there. St. Louis would be another good choice if you don't want to go far.

If you'd like to try to get a little warmer, head down to the Gulf Coast of Florida for pristine white beaches and cute little towns. Pick one that you like and find a cozy inn.

Gatlinburg Tennessee, since you aren't so far. I also live in the area near you, and dollywood has some new rides. also, the cabins have a great view of the mountains, even though you already live in the mountains. But there are also a lot of cabins just for honeymooners, like one that has a swimming pool inside, so while it's snowing outside, you can swim inside.

We are traveling to Buffalo NY, going to a Monday Night Football game (Bills v. Cowboys) and then Niagra falls the next day. It will only be a 4 day honeymoon, but a nice chance to getaway and relax a bit. Plus we are both football fans.

instead of staying in one place for a week, stay in a few. Plan out a driving trip with different bed and breakfasts along the way. Do picnics and hiking.

Research it before hand and have an idea of what you want to do. Find more things than you can actually do in the the time you have, that way if you miss one particular thing, you still have plenty of others to do.

my wife and I have fantasy dinners.
the idea being that if we were in an exotic locale, the inside of a hotel would probably look the same.,
we get a room in a local hotel,
get the fixings for a ethnic dinner, or go to a restraunt,
and then take turns telling of all the exciting things we enjoyed about our day, things we imagine may be in that area, or whatnot.
sometimes we get online and look at local webcams from whereever.
This is for whenever we are broke, and need some get away from reality time.

Maybe Florida? Washington DC? How about New York City? There are always lots of cheap airfares and packages to those destinations all year long.

I know you said I don't want to go far, but Las Vegas and Los Angeles always has nice weather...regardless of season.

I've always wanted to explore Savannah, Georgia. I've heard it is gorgeous there and so much to do. It's different than the usual cruise/resort honeymoon most choose and it wouldn't require going through customs, dealing with passports, etc.

What about renting a chalet right there in Gatlinburg. Get one with a hot tub and a fireplace. There is tons of stuff to do or you guys can just enjoy the mountains. If it snows, it will be more beautiful than usual.

Maybe you can travel down to FLorida, only a couple hours for the road trip and rent a cabin or beachside bungalo. Or hit up Nashville. You can stay in a hotel there and go to lots of shows, site seeing etc..
