Most people will tell you that PDF is an abbreviation of Portable Document Format and, ostensibly, this is true. When the PDF standard was first envisaged, however, its designers actually meant it to be called Pretty Damned Fast, due to the compact, fast-to-load nature of these files.
Today, now that the PDF format is well established, millions of computer users across the world are experiencing and enjoying the lightning speeds with which these files download and open up for reading.
