i was told the other day that if you give blood it is worth 20 community service hours is this a lie or is it true please respond

It's a lie.

Giving blood will not give you credit for Community Service. Credit for Community Service is 1=1. One hour of labor is one hour of community service. You should ask your Probation Officer what projects are available for Community Service.

Not here. You might talk them into it, but you wouldn't get a 20 hour credit for it.

I give blood a couple times a year, generally takes me a half hour total.

So you might get away with an hour, but not 20.

You would have to ask your probation department. Some may do it, most likely do not.
