We got married two weeks ago,and still use the money we received. In fact, we bought a leather couch a few weeks ago,and I just thanked my Grandma yesterday for the gift.

A pasta strainer, a good set of kitchen knives, and a marble paper towel holder!

we've been married over 10 years and I use those 3 things daily!

the money was the best but I love the wine glasses the most along with all the kitchen stuff.

Someone got us a black and white picture that was framed of a street sign that said on one sign Toni Avenue and on the other one Mark Street. It was our favorite gift - we don't use it but we look at it a lot and its a good conversation piece.

We've been married almost 18 years. The best was actually a homemade quilt, which has been awesome. Another great one is a really nice electric frypan, which we use often - because it's nice and large. Towels were great, as well as sheets.
We didn't have a registry, so anything was appreciated as we started our lives together! Things like crystal servingware were great, because they aren't things you would buy for yourselves, but they have been wonderful to have!

It was a gift of love from my mother in law. She knew how
much I loved to cook. She said, it's important to have a real
good set of cook ware. She is gone now, but I still have the
cook ware. I love it.

My corning ware. It was my favorite gift because it is super useful and I use it almost every time I cook.

Usually, I don't like receiving gifts that are "usefull." I like receiving gifts that are special...things I wouldn't normally justify buying for myself. The most "practical" thing you can get is money, which many people give. You can use that to buy the practical things.

For example, we had bed sheets. They worked fine. Someone bought us a set of really REALLy nice sheets, and we think about the person who gave them to us every time we crawl into bed.

Someone gave us a honeymoon. Every time we look at the photos, we remember the person who gave it to us.

How often do we think about the person who bought us the toaster oven, or the socks grandma gave you for christmas? Probably not very often.
