When you have had a difficult day where do you go or what do you do to find comfort? Sometimes I like a good bowl of pasta, sometiems just snuggling up on my couch with my favorite blanket, lying in my husbands arms and last night listening to my kids outside giggling. . . .So what does it for you?

Playing with my kids or hanging out and watching cartoons with them and cuddling on the couch. No matter how bad my day has been, when I walk in the door, I can always count on them to yell "Daddy's Home!" and come running to jump on me. - - I'm sure that will wear off after a while (they are 7, 5 & 2), but I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts.

knowing that i will be fine no matter what. I always think about all the things that i have been through in life and how i didn't think i would get through them but always came out better than where i started. That is what brings me comfort in life. Unlike most people i have not been able to let myself get comfort in someone else because from previous experience, i always lose them and the pain after loss is something i will do almost anything to make sure i don't experience again

Knowing that God is in control and that all things in my life are a part of learning to totally depend on Him for all that I need and for solutions to all problems. Whatever the day may bring-knowing that "This is the day the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it." smoothes out the rough edges of the bad days and makes the good days even better.

Meditating with the dawn, hearing my youngest sing to the sun when he wakes up, watching my oldest son check the growth of his facial hair in the mirror, gazing at the outline of my beautiful wife right before I wake her. Spending the day playing with my sons, listening to music, meditating again but this time with one or both of my boys, sharing the Dharma, doing as much good as we can, talking with my wife in the breakfast nook, loving her, and being loved in return, sharing a meal and laughter with my family. Seeing friends, some made a lifetime ago some made today. Mediating with sunset. Telling stories with family and friends. Watching my boys sleep. Going to sleep with my wife and our slightly deranged dog. These things not only bring me comfort but also joy with every breath

Books have always been my best source of comfort. It's nice to retreat into a fictional world and deal with someone else's problems once in awhile. Sure it's escapism, but it's still comforting!

Also, a phone call with my mom usually cheers me up!

Reading my Bible or one of my Fulton Sheen (or other Catholic) books and attending Mass make me feel comfortable.

Apart from that? Watching TV with my kitties, playing with my puppy, watering my garden and sitting outside with or without my mother at my glass top table listening to the birds sing.

Hearing my son laugh always makes me happy; being around my sweet canines is great; watching Ice Road Truckers or black and white photos of snow makes me feel better about the heat; listening to a good Christian song; seeing the smile of welcome from my elderly parents' faces.

At the Holy Eucharist. Low Mass, Solemn High Mass...it doesn't matter. This is where I encounter Jesus Christ. Really Present.

When I'm lying in bed, snuggled up to my husband, and our cat curls up around our feet. When I'm with my nephew, and he looks up at me with total love and trust, and shares "his" movie with me. When I cook a meal and people thank me for it, and compliment me on the food.
