Maybe you shouldn't just "pop" in. Usually confession is at certain times. At our Church it's 45 minutes before each Mass and 4-5 on Saturdays. You can find out by calling the Church, or read the bulletin, or on their website if they have one. Otherwise, you can call the parish office and make an appointment.
Priests are very busy, and are not just hanging around the Church like they always seem to be doing in movies.

You can confess at any Catholic Church. But if you want to confess at your own Church I suggest you talk to the priest on Sunday and set up a time when he could hear your confessions. Most churches has set times for confession.

If you are talking about a Catholic parish, they probably have a specific time to come by for the sacrament of reconciliation. Check the bulletin, website, or call the church office. Otherwise, you can call and make an appointment with a priest.
And don't worry, you aren't going to burn in hell. I have a feeling that you've already talked to God about stuff (which is where true forgiveness comes from) and since you are making the effort to recieve the sacrament, the fact that you are having trouble isn't going to be somehow counted against you.

give the Church office a call and ask what confessions are offered. You can ask a Priest and they can do it anytime as well.
Most pick early morning or right after a Mass and try to keep it consistent.
Few offer confession all day.
You can check another local Church at www.masstimes.org/
Hope this helps and God Bless!

Most parishes (including mine) have Confession at regularly scheduled times...for me it's Saturdays from 5:00 'til 7:00 P.M. - or any time by appointment.
I guarantee if you called and spoke to your priest and made an appointment, he will be glad to hear your Confession.

If you confess your sins, you will be saved. Go bow on your knees, and confess to God, he is the only one who can save you. "No one comes to the Father, but through me."

You don't need a priest. Confess your sin's directly to God... There is one mediator between man and God, the man Christ Jesus.... no priest can do that for you any better than you can do it for yourself.

Have you sinned against man or God??
God is faithful to forgive, simply confess he is God and he will remove all guilt and shame and he will be faithful to forgive.
