My husband and I both worked up to the day I went into labor.
I work at a hospital, my husband works 6 blocks away from the hospital, and we live 45 minutes away from work...so it just made sense to drudge into work every day, just in case.

as for returning to work: my husband was only able to take a week off....and I have 11 weeks of vacation time saved up, but don't know if I want to take it all - or save a little for the upcoming holidays. (just had baby last week)

I worked until I was 38 weeks pregnant, 2 days before my daughter was born. I took 5 1/2 months off before returning, 6 weeks disability, 6 weeks paid family leave, and the next 2 1/2 months were from my remaining vacation hours. I saved the hours for 3 years so that i could have a long time off.

I had to leave work a month before the baby was born...and was induced at 39 weeks. In Canada you get 12months paid maternity leave...so I went back to work 12 months later.

I quit work at 26 weeks - couldn'#t imagine working beyond that. i was an infant teacher and sitting on teeny chairs was hard with a big bump! I have yet to return. I will do when my youngest is at school. it's hard financially, but I'm loving it :-)
